WATCHMEN and TRANSFORMERS Concept Art by Scott Lukowski

The first Michael Bay Transformers and the superhero film Watchmen don't have much in common, but they do have one thing: Concept artist Scott Lukowski. He contributed some artwork for both films and shared them on his site. Scott Lukowski is a professional concept and VFX artist who's worked on
Hollywood projects like Spider-Man (2002), Terminator 3 (2003) and Armageddon (1998).

From director Michael Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg comes a thrilling battle between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons. TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE FALLEN and BURGER KING "Kingbot" Concept Designs by Josh Nizzi

The trailer for Transformers 4 Age of Extinction is coming at the Super Bowl, but let's look back at the least successful of the Michael Bay Transformers film. All of the robot designs for the movies are stellar. Nizzi hosted some great concept art including alternate versions of Megatron robot designs and The Fallen concept designs on his site and I'm sharing a few. As a bonus, I'm also sharing Josh Nizzi's concept art from the Burger King Transformers commercials nicknamed "Kingbot."

Josh Nizzi is a professional concept artist who's worked on major motion pictures like The Wolverine (2013), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and Battleship (2012).

Part of the marketing tie-in for the movie was Burger King’s "Transform Your Way" scratch-and-win game, which gave away a bunch of prizes including $1 million cash. In the hilarious commercials, the broiler transforms into the Kingbot who gives the winner the money. Here's one of the commercials:

While Bay is hard at work on a fourth Transformers movie let's take a look back at the most successful film in the Transformers movie franchise. Dark of the Moon grossed US $1.12 billion worldwide, and is the sixth-highest-grossing film of all time, it's the second-highest-grossing film of that year, is the highest-grossing film in the Transformers series, and the tenth film to gross over $1 billion. Besides making oodles of cash, it was nominated for three Oscars (Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Visual Effects).

The opening scene of Transformers: Dark of the Moon had mind-blowing scenes of the Transformers' home planet of Cybertron.


Dylan Cole is a professional concept artist and matte painter, who's worked on Hollywood movies like Superman Returns (2006), I, Robot (2004) and 2012 (2009), and shared a couple of gorgeous pieces from the film on his Facebook page.

Cole said on his Facebook page, "Here is a painting from Transformers: Dark of the Moon. I had a lot of fun designing the Cybertron sequence in the beginning. I built the basic environment in Cinema 4D and put it all together in Photoshop."

TRANSFORMERS REVENGE OF THE FALLEN Concept Art by Paul Ozzimo

Striking 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' Concept Art by Wesley Burt

Transformers: Dark of the Moon made a ton at the box office and has some striking concept art. None more striking than Optimus Prime and Laserbeak. Wesley Burt, who worked on the film, shared some of his concept art for the film.

Several designs on the film had different working titles on production. For example"Colossus" for the Driller, "Buzzard" for Laserbeak, "Undermine" for Igor and "Steeljaw" for Wheeljack/"Que".
