Yesterday I revealed that I *recently* celebrated a milestone birthday. If you missed this reveal, you can read about it here. Oh please don't bother with wishing me a happy belated birthday. This celebration was last week and it's hardly over. I'm not kidding. My husband and I have big plans for a combined celebration in November and, believe me, you'll hear more about that soon. But for now, I want to share another great gift that I received.
These days, the gifts that I request the most are always home-related. Of course, I love the hand made artwork from my kids and I really do frame them for my house. But in addition to those treasures, I can't get enough decor accessories. I have been longing for this large bone clad serving tray from High Street Market. It's hard to tell here, but it's inlaid with bone tile and it has brass handles.
And what do ya know? I received it for my birthday from my parents! I absolutely love it for it's fine details! It's a true statement piece and I will have it forever. I put it on my ottoman in my living room. I found these antlers this summer while antiquing in Kennebunk. I love them on this tray but think they get a little washed away so I plan to paint them in gold leaf...on a rainy day...so they POP.
While we're in the living room, I thought I'd show you a few other additions...I added these antlers to the wall too. I got into the Adirondack camp-themed decor this summer and though I'd love to completely decorate a room in campy style like this, for now, I've found subtle ways to introduce the style into my home.
I've also added a flash of color to the mantle with a little height to the mantle with the flowers and the candlesticks.
Thank you to my mama and Dewey (my dad) for that kick ass bone tray for my birthday! I will cherish it forever! It will be such a staple in my house and i LOVE it!!!
